I want to update you on the business and share both good and bad news.
Bad news first, we are unfortunate to announce that the Planetarie brand will no longer continue operations after July 31, 2023. This news may or may not come as a surprise, but it's been months in the works, and we finally decided to make it official at the end of last week.
Many factors played a part in our decision to cease operations. As a brand, we face the complexity of delivering new products to customers in a market confused and regulated by psychotropic effects versus products aimed at only health and wellness. Until there is a better distinction between non-psychotropic and psychotropic products, the CBD and CBDa space will continue to be a tough arena for any brand, let alone a small niche brand like ours.
Luckily, this isn’t an all-bad news message. I spent months looking for the perfect partner, and Tanasi is an ideal match. Starting August 1, 2023, Tanasi is absorbing the Planetarie brand into theirs.
Tanasi's dedication to a science-first approach makes them a perfect match for the Planetarie customer. Founded in a Middle Tennessee State University lab, Tanasi filed a patent for their research behind a 1:1 formulation of CBD + CBDa. Their research shows that 1:1 CBD+CBDa is more effective than CBDa alone but also works 2X better than just CBD. Believe me, I did not want this day to come, but finding a great partner for this transition has made it easier.
I want to thank you, the customer, for your support and loyalty. It has been an honor and privilege to serve you and share this experience. You have been the driving force behind our mission, and I cannot thank you enough for your trust and confidence in us.

10-Year Grant Partnership
The 10-year grant partnership helped fund research of the hemp plant by a team of biologists and chemists, leading to significant findings surrounding innovative growing techniques and the medicinal benefits of the hemp plant.

There were no plans to launch a product line when the money was dedicated, but the studies uncovered data showing the tremendous benefits of a specific formula combining CBD+CBDa.
In 2019, MTSU filed a patent application, Cannabinoid compositions and methods of using, with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the CBD+CBDa formula, and a decision was made to produce a product line with the formula as the foundation of every product.
